Hey Crew Leader,
We had an amazing week of Crew a couple weeks ago to start the SZN! Over 2500 people gathered across South Florida and online to build community, grow in faith, and encounter Jesus through Crews. That’s not just a win, that’s a move of God. And you played a part in it.
But this is just the beginning.
Jesus didn’t say, “Go and host a Crew for a couple weeks and see what happens.” He said, “Go and make disciples of all nations…” That means we’re not just running meetings. We’re raising up followers of Jesus. That means you, Crew Leader, are more than a host. You’re a shepherd. You’re a builder. You’re a discipler. Whether five people or fifty show up — the mission remains the same: love people, point them to Jesus, and walk with them every step of the way.
Our Crew Leader Handbook gives us seven ways we can do that:
Let’s pause right there — Never. Give. Up.
If your Crew felt quiet this week… don’t give up.
If you felt underprepared… don’t give up.
If the convo felt off or the vibe wasn’t there… don’t give up.
If you’re wondering if this is really working… don’t give up.
You might not see it yet, but something solid is being built. Not overnight, but brick by brick. God is working in the steady, faithful steps. Every time you show up, every word you speak, every prayer you pray, it matters. He’s moving beneath the surface, strengthening what’s unseen. So don’t stop now. Keep showing up. Keep pouring out. The breakthrough is closer than you think.
So how do we keep growing this season?
Before you lead anyone else, let God lead you.
Make time to worship, read your Bible, pray, and sit with Him before Crew. This isn’t just Crew prep, it’s soul prep. You can’t pour out if your cup is empty. So slow down and fill up. Pray for your Crew members by name. Pray over the space. Pray over your co-leader. Just like setting the table for a great meal, prepare the way for God to move.
Don’t wait for people to find community… go get them.
Talk to someone in the courtyard. Invite your coworker. DM that friend you’ve been thinking about. Ask people. Invite people. Follow up with people. Some of the best Crews started because one leader got bold and had a conversation. So lean in. Be relentless about people. Because every name has a story, and every story matters to God.
Let’s not make Crews something we “have” to do, let’s make them something we can’t wait to get to.
Stay after Crew. Hang out. Laugh a lot. Get ice cream. Go grab food after a workout Crew. Play a game. Celebrate birthdays. Comradery builds community. Fellowship builds family. The more fun you have, the deeper the relationships go.
Prepare. Pursue. Have fun.
These three things can change the game this season. Progress might not be instant, but it will be inevitable — because God is moving in the Slow Burn.
Let’s lead with vision. Let’s lead with faith. Let’s lead like Jesus is building something eternal — because He is.
Let’s go, Crew Leaders — the best week is ahead!
Let's all make sure that we are turning in our Crew Reports and Headcounts right after your crew is done. Let's not wait for someone to text us a day or couple days after your crew is over to submit your report and your headcount.
