Luke 11:9-10 NIV
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

We've all been in a situation of gossip. Whether you participate or not, we all have a responsibility for standing up for what we believe in. But what happens when you aren't confident in what you believe? There's a learning gap you need to fill, and Jesus teaches us how to find the answers from our Heavenly Father. God is waiting for us to come to Him with our questions, and He responds to us with grace when we seek Him with open hearts. Like children who seek understanding from their loving parents, we can be confident that God will show us the way.
Discover who He is, and you’ll begin to learn who you truly are
The foundation of every single discussion we have with God is that we are His children. We should perceive that our Lord is our Dad first prior to asking. We can be certain that no circumstance is off limits, and we can bring everything and anything to His presence.
Even in our imperfect state, when someone comes to our door asking for something, it’s difficult to turn that person away. How much more would our heavenly, and perfect Father open doors for his children who knock fervently? We can choose to compare the shortcomings of our earthly fathers to our Father God, or we can knock, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us with His restorative love and correction.
As we ask, seek, and knock we must keep in mind that the door will only open if we approach it. Thankfully, we have a Heavenly Father who is joyfully waiting for our arrival. Rest assured that as a child of God we can approach Him knowing that not only is He able to answer us, He revels in it. Whether it’s by way of a blessing, guidance, or discipline, our Heavenly Father restores us so that we can consistently walk tall in our identity as His children.
This week, make it a point to study, and memorize The Lord’s Prayer (found in Luke 11:2-4 and Matthew 6:9-13). Notice how Jesus’ example of prayer shows us the principles of asking, seeking, and knocking on our Heavenly Father’s door. Learn to appreciate how this prayer gives us the framework we need to invite God’s presence into our lives.
