JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sacrificing perfection for imperfection, Jesus descended to be a representation of our heavenly Father on the earth. His light to the world reflected the glory of God to his people. As children of God, we are to reflect that light. We leverage the relationship between God the Father and Jesus to guide our relationships with anyone entrusted to our care. Afterall, those individuals are the greatest reflection of who we are. Making a difference for God hinges on what we invest into their lives. As extensions of our heavenly Father, we use our unique gifts to draw others closer to him. We don’t have to point people to the Father, we get to.
Perhaps the clearest image of God we have on earth is that of the father.
There are moments where we may feel like we or those entrusted to us do not measure up to the standards of others. But as God’s children, our job is not to point out deficiencies but instead, to point them to the Father. We have been made sufficient through the Father’s grace.
In fear of being overlooked, we tend to exaggerate our accomplishments, hedging ourselves from being swallowed by the world’s competition. But what truly makes us standout is operating within the purpose God has called us. In this, we can follow Jesus’ example. He walked faithfully in the mission his Father gave him, thus the Father had no concern, only confidence.
Everyone’s experience with their earthly father is different. There are good fathers, there are not so good fathers, or fathers that were amazing that are no longer with us. However, we all can experience the joy of having a relationship with our heavenly Father. Our Father who loves us and says, you are enough! You are unique! You are loved! He loves us regardless of who we are or what we’ve done, and desires to have a relationship with us. Will we answer the call? Will we choose him? Set aside comparison and thoughts of insignificance and embrace the arms of your Father to be the unique individual he created you to be.
How can we be better representations of the Father to the world? Begin writing out a plan of what you need to invest in so that your life reflects him.
