Habakkuk 2:1-3 ESV
I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. 2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Driving down a dark road, a thick fog sets in making it difficult to see in front of you. The only guidance you have is a GPS and the barely visible road markings a few feet ahead. Only the GPS knows where you're heading. Similarly, our faith journey can sometimes feel like navigating through a fog. But the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit gives us eyes to see clearly. Spiritual vision is every bit as important as our physical sight. When we elevate our vision, we are able to recognize that our best days are not behind us but rather in front of us. As we lean into the vision God has for us, we gain perspective. Spiritual sight allows us to see past ourselves, and seek vision for our role in the world around us that will have lasting effects into eternity. It is only when we set our eyes above, that we can use our lives to bring heaven to earth, in our homes, our jobs, and our city. And as the vision is revealed, we must wait for God’s direction to make it happen, not allowing ourselves to be sidetracked. If we aren’t careful, a good opportunity can distract us from a God-opportunity. When heaven drives the vision, our sight is set on eternity.
We aren’t here to colonize the world, we are here to heavenize the world.
Sometimes when we are on the ground we are only able to see what's surrounding us and we need to get to higher places to gain a new perspective. By looking up we gain a vision of heaven, which not only gives us a new perspective on the eternal, but also helps us be more intentional on earth. In order to do so we need to stick to prayer, psyche, praise and people.
Just as much as we ought to seek God’s vision, we must submit to his timing. God’s promises are true and his moments are never wasted. Going through the process makes us better with time. Although it may seem slow, the vision will come to pass.
When we change our perspective for God's vision, our spiritual eyes see more than our present circumstances. God gives each person the opportunity to build with Him. For the sake of eternity, we focus on God's vision for humanity. We must remember that we are merely a mist in this never ending timeline. However, our daily actions can have eternal impact when we allow God’s promises to live in and through us.
This week, spend time seeking God for vision and direction for this season of your life. Write down what He reveals and pray over each promise.
