ROMANS 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The greats, Mozart, DaVinci, Picasso, Einstein, Beyoncé, need no introduction. We know their names because of their iconic contributions to culture. They’re geniuses. Experiencing their work brings us inspiration and even the motivation to think, “if they can do that, just maybe, there’s something unique I can do too.” But the truth is, our unique genius isn’t just a vague concept. God created us so that genius could be our reality. What’s the evidence for this? Jesus. Granted, you may not find Jesus listed on anyone’s “world genius list,” but he was one. He was a virtuoso in being human. Jesus came to earth to show us that we too could be fully, beautifully human, not by pushing God away, but by opening our lives to his influence. This atypical genius is transferable to us, not so that we could avoid messing up, but so that we can become his image bearers of love for others. It's not a genius that we need to develop but one we need to protect. If we fail to lean into our embedded capacity to love others, we will lose it. So open up to your God-given potential. God has put something in you so special that he is waiting to unlock and unleash to the world.
You'll never live the life you're meant to if you don't understand who and what you are.
Jesus expresses his genius as an act of love. God shows us how to love one another and open our hearts when we use the unique gifts that God entrusted to us. It is our love toward others that enables us to communicate on God’s frequency. The frequency of love.
Our relationship with God doesn’t just open our hearts, it opens our minds. It allows his beauty, creativity, and power to flow through us. He creates a new you, a new future. A you and a future that is not limited to human reasoning, but is all he intended for you when he created you.
Human beings are intrinsically brilliant as we are made in the image of the living God. Although we will never fully understand the mind of God, one thing we can take note of is his limitless capacity for compassion and love. As humans who have the spirit of Christ in us, we too have a limitless capacity to relate others in the way that God does. But, the catch is, this transformation isn’t just for us. What we are supposed to be good at is simply being human by loving and living a life in service to others. God has already made it plain how to live. Let us be loyal in our love for God and compassionate to others, always remembering that Jesus’ life spells out the greatest genius of love.
Need inspiration on how to better love others with your God-given genius? Read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) to find out what Jesus did, create a journal of new ideas for loving others that God has given you and act on them.
