The soul is an integral part of what makes us human, and is connected to our heart, mind, body and relationships. As we surrender our hearts to Jesus, our minds are transformed, our bodies are submitted and our relationships are restored. Our souls, however, are not our own, they are secured and sanctified by God who holds them. Only when we accept Christ, the sanctification process can begin, and we can live happy, healthy, holy lives.
Surrender is art that gets comfortable over time.
1. Soul Secure
Our souls are saved, as a result of God’s unending love for us. God gave His only Son for our sake, so that we can have full confidence knowing our souls are secure for eternity, when we surrender to our Lord Jesus.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. - Romans 8:38 NLT
2. Soul Sanctified
Sanctifying, or pruning, our soul is a daily process of allowing God to work on us as we bring ourselves closer to Him. God is holy, and calls us to be holy. He is continuously inviting us to intimacy with Him, and wants us to know that He is not mad at us, but is madly in love with us.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. - Proverbs 23:7
Our souls are significant to the Lord because He designed us to worship and give glory to Him. How we live and who we surround ourselves with has a great impact on God's kingdom. As followers of Christ, we should identify whether our actions and relationships are building the kingdom or taking away from it. We need God to help us by leading us away from habits and people that are destructive to our souls. God can only help us when we fully surrender our entire life to Him and through Him. Jesus can help prepare us for a life that can influence and impact others by sharing Christ’s love we have been given.
