[lead dropcap="yes"]Many times it is not what we do out of faith that molds us, it is what we no longer do. Often, it is not the places we enter, but the places we leave that create the biggest impact. Relationships, cities, mental stagnation, and others are places that God asks us to leave in order to fully understand God’s plans for our lives. It all requires faith, to walk without seeing, and still believe God is the one leading.[/lead]Friend of the house and Guest speaker, Pastor Tim Ross, spoke about the importance of leaving behind what is not good for us in order to receive the plans that God truly has in store. Putting our faith into action is essential in our path of finding out our life's purpose.

Having the Faith to Leave

One great story that highlights an incredible faithful man is the story of Abraham. He is the epitome of a "leaver" in the Bible and believed blindly in God through his great faith. The Lord told him to leave for a blessing, and by responding in obedience to his calling, Abraham makes a perfect example on why leaving can be a good thing. The biggest miracle you can encounter is to leave behind what you have always known your whole life. It might not be as easy as it sounds, but being chained to something can be hurting and sustain you from achieving greatness.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.–Hebrews 11:1

In order to reach that level of greatness and receive God's miracle, you are encouraged to leave that toxic relationship or that turbulent past that refrains you from getting any further.Sometimes one can be hesitant to move on from a situation, however, that can hold you back on your true purpose. Leaving that unhealthy relationship, bad friendship, or those alarming bad habits are for the better and there is a God-given reason why.So, why exactly does God want you to leave?

  1. He wants you to change. The Lord wants to take you from where you are to an environment that will take you further. Sometimes He wants you to leave geographically, relationally, and/or culturally.
  2. He wants you to be blessed. Not only will your blessing be present-based, but it can also transcend to your future generations.
  3. He wants you to bless others.God wants you to engage in this selfless act in which you are a blessing to others.
