Do we realize that God knows us better than we know ourselves? If this is the case then why do we pine after what we think we want or need? He knows our needs better than we know our needs. Then it only makes sense to wait and look to Him for all the things.
God has done some pretty incredible things in my life. He has given me 4 beautiful children. He has brought me a loving and devoted spouse. He has allowed our family to purchase and sell homes unlike I ever thought possible.
God has been so present in my life and I see Him in all the big things. I have learned to trust Him in all the major shifts of my life. The harder work has been learning to trust in Him in all the smallest day to day tasks.
It is easy to get stressed out about getting work done or having enough time in the day to be with family and do the chores. This is not the kind of easy I want. I do not think that God has called me to live in stress of any kind. Realizing this is when I realized I needed to start praying about the small things.
I have been learning to be a good steward of the time and life God gives me each moment. I am doing this by praying about being present in one task at a time. I ask Him to help me accomplish each item of my day. Before I know it I have not ceased in prayer and my day is done. Spending my day with Him has opened my eyes to how much I can trust Him for.
Romans 8:26-28 MSG Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
The real task for us is to relinquish what we think we need and simply let Him provide. This must be our daily practice. To come to His feet knowing that He knows better and best. Our job is to trust in Him and His provision.
This is no easy task though. The world tells us to make all the vision boards and set the 5 to 10 year plan. The enemy wants us consumed with the way the world does things so that we are distracted from doing what God has called us to do. Which is to trust in Him.
The practice of being a good steward of all that God has already provided us is to continue to trust Him. He is making prayers from our wordless sighs and groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves. We can trust that every detail of our lives is being considered and is worked into something good.
Do you believe that God knows you better than you know yourself? Write down the things you pray about. Could you start to pray about small, seemingly insignificant things as well?
