"Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible." Romans 13:1-3 MSG

On Day 2 of our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we are taking a moment to pray for our city, nation and leaders. At VOUS, we have a heart for the city God has placed us in and feel passionately called to serve it. Although we don’t have the power to change our city, we believe that as we serve and pray for our city, God will change it.

Furthermore, we aspire for the reach of our local church to impact the nation as a whole. We are grateful to be a part of this nation and want to do our part in bringing the light of Jesus into all facets of it. Prayer is a powerful and precise way to do just that. Through prayer, we believe people can experience the gracious and transformative love of Jesus.

As a church, we especially want to commit to praying for those in leadership roles across our city and nation. No matter where we fall politically, we know that prayer is for all people and we strive to be intentional in asking God to shape the decisions and leadership of those in authority.

Today, as we pray for our city, nation and leaders, let’s ask God to have his way and bring about the change he wants to see.
