[lead dropcap="yes"]Everyone has their values— they are what you focus your time and energy on. Here at VOUS Church we have seven core values we are called to live our lives by. This Sunday was the beginning of a brand new collection of talks called VOUS Values and we were reminded of the first and most important value: Jesus Is Our Message.[/lead]Sometimes we think we know the true message of things yet when we slightly misunderstand it, real tangible consequences arise. Has this ever happened to you? Pastor Rich highlighted this idea with a personal story of missing out on a concert because of a slight misinterpretation on the concert ticket. That mishap, however, led to a greater reflection: the smallest details can have a great impact on the result.

VOUS Values: Jesus is our Message

Often times, many people get confused by what the message of Jesus truly means and that causes limitations on who we think should be a part of God’s community; but if we refer back to Luke 5:27-28, Jesus’ love is so evident in the company he kept. Outsiders and misfits were among those that Jesus spent most of his time associating with. The message of Jesus is not about who’s most qualified or most holy, the message is that Jesus loves you and wants to establish a relationship with you...whoever you are. This is what makes the gospel so scandalous!

As a church community that places Jesus at our core, we believe that Jesus loves all people, from all walks of life, and all he wants is to start a brand new journey with you regardless of who you are or what you’ve done. Jesus loves you exactly where you are.
