[lead dropcap="yes"]Have you ever found yourself with a deep desire for more, almost a dissatisfaction with the mundane things of this world? Such emotion is not unfounded because we were made to search for life’s meaning. In fact, God has filled us with a desire for more than this earthly existence.[/lead]

“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” - C.S Lewis, Mere Christianity

Pastor Rich continued his collection of talks on who Jesus is and his “I Am” statements through the gospel of John. Reading from John 14:1-7, we see Jesus' declaration as The Way, The Truth, and The Life. In this chapter, Jesus begins preparing his disciples for his death on the cross. He knew the disciples were struggling with what’s about to happen but took time in comforting them.

Aren’t you grateful that we serve a good, good God who always leaves us with a divine promise in the midst of every trial? So, Jesus paints a picture that there is more than this life and reassures them he’s going to prepare a forever home for them, with the promise that he is coming back to take them with him.He doesn’t just leave us with the promise of eternity, he tells us, in no uncertain terms, that he is our answer to “more” in this life with three simple truths:

THE WAY

Jesus bridges the gap between us and our Heavenly Father. Sin was our greatest enemy and Jesus conquered sin when he died on the cross and rose again. He is not only our way, He is the ONLY way. And because he walks with us, he continually reroutes our course when we get off track and guides us home.

THE TRUTH

If we want to know the truth of God, we need only to look to Jesus. And what do we know about Jesus? In every interaction, he showed extreme mercy and extreme grace. What does that mean for you? It means that because Jesus is for you, the enemy has no power over you. Let that truth set you free!

THE LIFE

Jesus is the author and creator of life. We do not know life until we find relationship with him. While this may seem like an audacious statement, just think of how amazing it is that we serve a God so fully confident in himself that he can say everything about life is in him even on his way to his death on the cross.Have you ever been lost? Filled with anxiety trying to find your way back. You know that moment of relief when you finally get back on a road you’re familiar with, and headed back in the right direction? That is the feeling Jesus wants to fill you with today! He’s reaching out with one hand, waiting for you to grasp it. And with the other, he’s holding the hand of God, ready to pull you into his presence. Are you feeling dissatisfied? Is there something in you that knows there is more? You need only to call on the name of Jesus and he will lead you home.
