[lead dropcap="yes"]We may have had slightly less sleep (thank you, Daylight Savings Time) but that wouldn't be enough to keep us from being in high spirits as we marched into spring at VOUS Church.[/lead]There are so many great things happening in our church community, that stepping back becomes necessary to remind ourselves that every team, task, and tent in our courtyard is attached to people at the heart of it. Our church has never been built on the gifts of a few, but on the sacrifice of many. As we look around, the evidence of this becomes a shining example of the hard work put in by each and every servant leader. We are encouraged and filled with gratitude that as we commit ourselves to Jesus, he is indeed building his church.

Sunday Double Sunday

We did a double take this Sunday as we heard from not just one but two amazing speakers. Continuing to carry the theme of Collisions with Christ, our very own Nick Del Vento and Luke Barry brought an amazing word that challenged and encouraged us. Here's a quick recap:

The Road To Damascus

Saul, the persecutor of Christians, seemed to have it altogether but a detour changed his life, and that detour was Jesus.

“When you see the orange sign on the road that says “detour” you automatically know your route will have to change to a different direction.”Nick Del Vento

Collisions with Christ cause 3 things to happen in our life:1. He redeems our past2. He renews our vision3. He restores our future

Mary & Martha

Sometimes we spend more energy doing things for God, and neglect to spend time withhim. Contrarily we can catch ourselves being caught up in the moments, and fail to give our service, a valuable and important thing. Neither is all wrong or all right, yet both leave something to be desired. Sometimes you can have all of what you want, but not the thing you need.

“Jesus plus nothing equals everything. And everything minus Jesus equals nothing.”Luke Barry

A collision with Christ may leave us right where we started, but what we do for him will no longer be about us. From that moment on, everything we do for him will be a response to what he has done for us.
