[lead dropcap="yes"] People of all ages and diverse backgrounds came together as a family for our 2nd ever Heart and Soul night — at the end of each SZN we gather together to celebrate the wins and prepare for what's ahead. We get an opportunity to look back at what God has done in the past 3 months, and realign ourselves to the vision of what God has appointed us to do. [/lead]
After only 218 days since launching, we have seen God do incredible things. If we're not careful we can easily overlook the big picture, yet as we intentionally remind ourselves and chart the milestones along the way we begin to see it more in full frame. We count people because people matter. Here are just a few of the key indicators that help us to visualize the successes and wins:
- 611 salvations in SZN1, bringing the total to over 1,000 since Launch Day!
- 96 average attendance at VOUS Kids, with a season high of 181 present on Easter Sunday.
- 91 new Growth Track graduates, with a total of 219 graduates overall.
- 706 members attended VOUS Crews this season, with a season high of 418 during one week!
- 209 average servant leaders dedicating their time on any given Sunday
- Over 1,200 people served during the most recent I Love My City project
As exciting as it is to look back and see what has taken place, perhaps even more important is looking ahead. Pastor Rich encouraged us all to continue to live out our VOUS Values by loving others, sharing the message of Christ and carrying a spirit of excellence in all that we do. Although this may seem like a lofty challenge, he shared how we would be able to fulfill our purpose both individually, and as a church. We simply need to be proactive!
"Proactivity begins with your thinking, heard in your speaking and seen in your living.” Rich Wilkerson Jr.
How to Become Proactive
1. Proactivity begins with your thinking.
We have the choice to make our decisions based on our morals and values. We may have had negative experiences, or come from an unfavorable background, but that does not disqualify us from living a life of purpose.
2. Proactivity is heard in your speaking
Culture happens by design. In our daily lives, we will see a difference when we transform our words from I can’t or if only to I choose and I will.
3. Proactivity is seen in our living.
Every good tree bears good fruit, and an effective leader is found by their actions. We must do our best in all that we do, and be good stewards of what we have. We are called work as unto the Lord in our jobs and when we serve others, love our families and neighbors as Christ loves us, and bring honor to God with the gifts and talents that God has given us.
