[lead dropcap="yes"]The threat of rain looming over the courtyard did nothing to deter our teams of dedicated servant leaders from transforming a middle school in the heart of Wynwood into a house of God where all are welcome to come as they are.[/lead]This Sunday marks the end of an annual eventful weekend for music lovers with Winter Music Conference, Ultra and Jazz in the Gardens taking place across the city. Yet for many, Sunday's can't-miss closer was held in a middle school in Wynwood — a fit setting for our story. Blocks away from the biggest party in Miami, the stage was set for a significant personal encounter with God — an understated context for a collision with Christ.

PALM SUNDAY - THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Passion Week, which commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. The same crowd who welcomed Him into the city laid palm branches on the ground and cried out “Hosanna!” on Sunday turned around and sang a completely different tune by Friday. Many of us are left to wonder what happened in a matter of five days to change the hearts of the crowd, and Pastor Rich brought clarity with his message by making the story applicable to our daily lives.

"Desire without knowledge is not good-- how much more will hasty feet miss the way." Proverbs 19:2

The crowds in Jerusalem had the expectation that Jesus, the man that had been prophesied about over the course of several centuries, simply came to save them from persecution; however, His plan was much bigger than that. He came so that we may have salvation!

“It is my hope that we would never be a church that makes noise on Sunday, but forgets about Him on Friday! Our faith matters, because things are NEVER how they appear to be." Rich Wilkerson Jr.

How often do we have an expectation of God that he fails to meet? When God doesn't behave the way we want him to, often we allow ourselves to react in doubt and even anger. Yet, instead of turning our hearts away from God, we should rejoice. Pastor Rich Wilkerson, Jr. reminds us that God’s ways are not like ours. He operates in the supernatural, and sees the end from the beginning.
