Purpose. Most of us spend a huge amount of time trying to discover ours, and fulfill it within our lifetime. There's even a saying, the two most important days in your life are the day you're born, and the day you discover why.It makes sense that if we're involved in our church community, we'd want to discover our purpose there, too. God gave us each gifts and talents, and they can all be used for His greater purpose on Earth. There are so many areas of church life, and here at VOUS Church, we believe that serving is an important part of your spiritual walk. If you take time to recognize your spiritual gifts, it can help you determine what areas of church life you may enjoy serving in.Here are 7 ways to use your spiritual gifts for God’s purpose.

APOSTLESHIPGod uses people with apostolic gifts to establish new ministries and churches. If you’ve ever been considered the initiator, the entrepreneur, the leader, the creator, the innovator, being the person who takes initiative is a great way to use your spiritual gift(s) for God. If you’re involved with I Love My City, you’re a Crew leader or maybe you have an Instagram page talking about Jesus, you have an apostolic gift! Believe that you are using your gifts for God’s purpose.ADMINISTRATIONAre you a planner, a very organized person, a manager or supervisor at your job, or are you the overall go to person? You are a blessing in the kingdom of God. Organization in needed in our churches, our homes, our schools, our jobs and even in our marriages. Your ability to administrate is what makes you great for God’s purpose.DISCERNMENTPerhaps you’re that person that people love to go to for advice. If you have an innate ability to distinguish the truth; you are gifted. Your natural ability to discern may save others from heartache, pain, and disappointment and can ultimately be used for God’s purpose.FAITHAre you the optimistic? Do you see your cup as halfway full rather than halfway empty? Are you persuaded that God is our good shepherd no matter what your situation? Throughout the bible Jesus states “Your faith has set you free’’ or “Your faith has made you whole” (Mark 5 :34). God wants to accomplish miracles in the lives of his people, but faith is the prerequisite that moves him. If you are full of faith, you must be full of purpose. Your faith, your optimism, your joy, and your positivity is useful for God’s purpose.

HEALINGGod wants people to be whole spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Maybe you’re a hospitable person or have a smile that brightens up a room. You could be a funny person or maybe you’re a singer or a doctor. Abilities such as these touch the three realms of our existence: spiritual, emotional, and physical. Your presence speaks volume of blessings, and God’s purpose is being perpetuated through you.KNOWLEDGEIf you are the person that likes to gather information and analyze data, you too are gifted. According to scripture, “My people perish because of a lack of knowledge.” Your knowledge may save lives, families, finances, marriages, churches, and businesses. Your knowledge can protect your community and help others in multiple ways. God gave you the gift of knowledge to serve, which makes you very valuable to those around you.WISDOM Having knowledge is great, but knowledge must be applied. Wisdom is knowledge applied. Life challenges us to make decisions, without decisions our lives remain stagnant. Good decision making induces good change. It’s important that we share and seek Godly wisdom, that we do life with others, together. That is why VOUS Church recommends getting plugged into a VOUS Crew. Your wisdom can protect. God is a protector and he uses you as his instrument of wisdom to protect your community.

God has more gifts for us and in us to use for his purpose. Imagine a culture where we used our gifts to serve one another. If you are using your gifts to serve, then you are indeed being used for God’s purpose. What’s amazing is that we have gifts that are known and unknown to us.
