VOUS Conference is almost here and we couldn't be more excited. We know miracles will happen as we prepare to gather on South Beach and enter the Fillmore Theater. You may enter one way, but you can expect to leave changed.Don't just take our word for it, check out what some of our servant leaders had to say about their first VOUS Conference experience![cta heading="VOUS Conference" subtext="Conference won't be the same without you, register today!" actiontext="GET TICKETS" link="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/vous-conference-2018-so-god-came-to-us-tickets-35303693297"]
Their Why
Jheanelle Gilmore (JG) - Screens Team: I like that our church does big events to bring more people in and help them get to know God. I wanted to do my part to help by serving.Reese Whitely (RW) - Host Team: I was on a journey with Christ, trying to figure out who he was in my life. Last year, I told myself that I'd cancel all plans to get to Conference. And I made a point to be super generous with my finances, time, and efforts. That’s why I chose to serve and promised myself to go all in during Conference weekend.Carolyn Jones (CJ) - Connect Corner: In the past, I went to Conference with the mentality to receive. I noticed that the best way to receive is through serving. The emotion, the humility, the spark that was in the eyes of people who were serving – it was amazing! I couldn’t believe I was missing out in previous years.
Their First Impression
JG: The energy was so wild. We were in line waiting, it was such a big buildup, it didn’t even feel like we were in line. People were really happy and excited to be there. I didn’t know what to expect, so it was really cool to be around people who’ve attended before because I was feeding off their energy.RW: I'd never been to a conference so big before. As a servant leader, you get there early, you see everybody setting up and the process it takes to get the atmosphere ready. As they’re doing run through, you start feeling the presence of God. Each time I stepped into the Fillmore, I felt like God was there.CJ: I think the most amazing thing about VOUS Conference is the amount of young people serving. I think that’s what brings the beautiful hype. To see the body of believers active and young people ministering to you through their service-that was the biggest hype.
Their Favorite Memory
JG: Being able to serve with my team. All production teams are in an offset room and I loved being in that room with those people. Getting to cultivate friendship and bonds with people on other teams and being able to be in that space was amazing.CJ: I loved the opening show, I cried so hard; there were so many things about it.RW: The best part of Conference for me was the aftermath. On the way to work the day after Conference I was playing worship music, and literally, I broke down. I was driving, and I was bawling. I pulled up to my job and had to wait twenty minutes to calm down. At that moment, I realized who God was and how good he’s been to me. It was because of Conference and all the things the speakers talked about, spoke life to me.
