What does your life look like?

What does your life look like? Is your way of living representing Jesus and His love?

I heard someone say that Christianity is not about behavior modification; but it's about heart transformation.

I used to think that following Jesus was about all these rules, limitations, and restrictions that kept people imprisoned. But I didn’t know it wasn’t anything like that, and I didn’t imagine how much freedom, joy, and peace would following Him bring into my life.

When I decided to give my life to Jesus, to actually surrender and let him transform every area of my heart, I started to notice how my thoughts and feelings began to change. It was like I received a new clarity on the things that were damaging me and keeping me stuck.

My friends and family didn’t really expect much of it when I said I decided to follow Jesus. And I quickly realized that no matter how well I tried to explain it, they wouldn’t really understand or believe me.

But that didn’t discourage me from continuing and allowing Jesus to transform everything in me. It eventually got to the point where I didn’t have to tell people that I’ve changed, they could see it.

It was more than just the change in my habits, the people I hung out with, or the places I visited. I became kinder, more patient, more joyful, there was an odd peace about me, and people began to wonder where it all came from.

Live a Life Worthy of the Gospel
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.” - Philippians 1:27

As I grew in my relationship with God, I realized that I no longer lived only for myself. I’ve become an ambassador of God’s Kingdom.

Being an ambassador means representing an organization, group of people, activity, or brand. So if I was representing God’s Kingdom, that meant that the way I conducted myself publicly and privately mattered.

I didn’t just want people to know that I followed Jesus. I wanted them to see Him through the way I lived.

And I want to encourage you to do the same. In the end, you may be the only Bible some people read and how you carry yourself as a follower of Jesus is just as important as what you say.

You’ll fail some times, like I do, but that’s why you need to rely on the Holy Spirit and ask for His grace, guidance, and wisdom every day of your life. But most importantly, His love.

“If I have the gift of speaking God’s Word and if I understand all secrets, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I know all things and if I have the gift of faith so I can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” - 1 Corinthians 13:2

The Bible says that we can do great things, but if we don’t have love in our hearts, then they mean nothing. That’s why it’s so important that we are not only aware of how we are conducting ourselves, but also make sure we are doing it with love, towards God, to ourselves and others.

Take a moment today to reflect on what your life looks like right now and think about what things you can change to represent Jesus and His message in a better way!
